The decorative polychrome porcelain dial has gilt garlands, fleur de lis and borders, red and green enamel dots, a blue outside border, Arabic numbers for the hours and five-minute marks, engraved gilt-bronze hands and is signed ‘BASTET’ in very small letters.
A very nice quality eight-day time and strike movement with an inverted pin pallet escapement and a crutch with screwed beat adjustment. The pendulum is a gridiron rod with a lenticular bob in the back and a silvered ring with brilliants around the dial. It is suspended from above by a Brocot suspension and swings side to side as the clock runs.
