Case
The traditional ormolu case has well-cast and finished mounts all around, chased decorative areas, a snake eating its tail as the handle and decorative bezels front and back.
Dial
The white convex porcelain dial has Roman numerals for the hours, is signed by the clockmaker, Castelle, has cast ormolu hands and a steel-cut alarm hand and asymmetrical winding arbors.
Movement
The typical officer's clock movement has the strike-work and balance wheel escapement on the backplate, has a pull repeat that strikes the hour and last quarter, has a pull cord to load the alarm spring, strikes on two bells and is stamped 8363.
