Case
The patinated case has columns to the corners, beveled glasses to the top and sides, a decorative cast top, a solid rear door and a decorative hinged handle above.
Dial
The engraved silvered dial has Roman numerals for the hours, steel-cut hands, is signed by the maker, James Gowland, 52 London Wall, London. and has a heavily cast decorative gilt-bronze mask.
Movement
The eight-day twin fusee time and strike movement has a pull repeat out the bottom, strikes on a gong and has a very high-quality lever platform above.
