Case

The oval gilt-bronze case has crisp molded edges, beveled glasses to five sides and a shaped hinged handle.

Dial

The exceptional polychrome time dial has Roman numerals for the hours, a moon dial with a gilt moon and stars on a blue ground, steel-cut hands and is signed by the retailer Robert Pleissner. Below are the three white porcelain subsidiary dials for the date, day and alarm and they all are framed by an elaborately engraved silvered mask.

Movement

The eight-day grand-sonnerie with alarm movement strikes on two gongs, is wound and set off the backplate, has the strike selector lever out the bottom, all the indications in French, is stamped with the serial numbers 730 and 1738 and retains the original balance platform with a screwed bimetallic balance wheel and lever escapement.
