French silver and gilt-bronze animated industrial clock with the original sidepieces.
Case
The silver and gilt-bronze case depicts a steam-engine boiler and stands on a Belgian marble base and is accompanied by a rare set of matching side pieces.
Dial
The white porcelain dial has Roman numerals for the hours and steel-cut Breguet-style hands.
Movement
The eight-day time only movement is set and wound off the backplate, has the crutch out the top and is stamped with Guilmet's trademark and the serial number, 332. The beam has weights hanging at each end and is suspended by an x-spring suspension. It is adjusted for fast slow by a weight on a screwed adjustment and rocks side to side as it runs.
