Late 19th-century animated lighthouse clock. Gilt-bronze and patinated brickwork case with the clock in the bottom and an oscillating multicolored glass balance mechanism above.
Case
The patinated brickwork case has gilt-bronze cornices, windows and cupola, a silvered balustrade and stands on a Belgian marble base.
Dial
The silvered dial is engraved with decorative motifs, has Roman numerals for the hours steel spade hands.
Movement
The eight day time and strike movement is mounted in the base. It's regulated by a balance mechanism that is composed of colored glass prisms and a thick conical spring suspended from an adjustable Brocot style fast/slow.
