Description:

A very nice mid-19th century Rosewood English time and strike bracket Clock by Blundell, London.

Case:

The simple architectural rosewood veneered case has bun feet, a decorative fluted molding above and fabric backed brass fish scale frets to the sides.

Dial:

The white painted dial has Roman numerals for the hours, steel cut hands, a strike/silent lever above the 12 and is signed by the maker, ‘Blundell, London’.

Movement:

The large eight-day double-fusee movement is held in by two brackets and a bolt through the base of the case and is signed on the backplate, Blundell, London. The heavy pendulum has the bob suspended from the center, a screwed adjustment for fast/slow and is suspended by a steel suspension spring. It strikes the hours on a large steel gong mounted to the bottom board and has the string repeat out the side.

Notes:

Blundell was a very good maker always associated with quality pieces.

The movement was photographed prior to restoration.
