Description:

An early 20th century electric mantle regulator by the eminent French clockmaker Vigreux Brillié. The gilt bronze and green onyx glazed case perfectly displays the skeletonized movement and compensating pendulum.

Case:

The gilt-bronze case has a shaped green onyx top and base, thick beveled glasses and adjustable feet.

Dial:

The white porcelain chapter ring dial has Roman numerals for the hours, steel cut Breguet-type hands, a seconds beating sweep seconds hand and is signed Electrique and Vigreux Brillié.

Movement:

The movement has shaped skeletonized plates with well-cut wheelwork and an electrical contact mounted to the backplate. The multi metal compensating type-b Brillie pendulum is suspended by a suspension spring and receives impulse by the energized coil attracting the iron hoop each second.

Notes:

The pendulum is stamped ‘2’.
