| Case: | The small ebonized case has a shaped. molded base, a brass hinged handle, bun feet and thick beveled glasses to the sides and top. | 
| Dial: | The gilt dial has engine-turning around the outside of the hour chapter and floral engraving within it. It has steel-cut hands, Roman numerals for the hours, is signed ‘Purvis, London’ and is framed by an engraved, gilt bezel. | 
| Movement: | The large eight-day time-only fusee movement has 5 turned and tapered pillars, is engraved ‘Purvis, London’ and has four spoke wheelwork. The balance platform is sunken into the top of the plates and is mounted to a decorative bracket. It has a brass three spoke balance wheel, a flat hairspring with the regulation to the back and a lever escapement. The whole is affixed in the case by two large brackets. |
