Description:

Late 19th century French Cobalt blue porcelain swinging lyre clock.

Case:

The cobalt blue porcelain case is adorned with exceptionally detailed gilt-bronze mounts including floral swags, decorative beaded edges and an Apollo sunburst.

Dial:

The white porcelain dial has polychrome floral swags, Arabic numbers for the hours and five-minute marks and engraved gilt-bronze lyre form hands.

Movement:

The eight-day time and strike movement is stamped ‘made in france’ and strikes on a bell. the pendulum is suspended by knife-edge and includes the silvered ring adorned with paste-stones that swings side to side as the clock runs.

Notes:

This model came in various sizes and qualities. This is the largest size and best quality.
