The engraved silvered astro dial has sunken hour and second chapters, wonderful steel-cut hands and is signed ‘Stratl. Berufsfachschule Furtwangen Schwarzwald’.

Movement:

The large high-quality eight-day movement has trapezoidal plates, jeweled bushings affixed to the plates by 3 screws, a counterpoised minute hand, finely cut wheelwork, maintaining power, knurled nuts to hold the plates together a dead beat escapement with adjustable pallets and is engraved on the backplate ‘Stratl. Berufsfachschule Furtwangen No.28’. The very light weight, under 3 lbs., is suspended from a jeweled pulley and is stopped at the top by stop work off the barrel. The thick brass movement support has two arms that go through circular openings in the plates. At the top there is a suspension system that allows lateral movement of the suspension spring. The pendulum has an Invar rod and the cylindrical bob is suspended in the center. The crutch is captured and adjusted for beat by the asymmetrical adjustable mechanism at the top of the pendulum rod. The pendulum swings against an independent silvered scale.
