| Inv. #: | E91 |
| Maker: | J.C. Jennens, London. |
| Description: | A late-19th century bronze bulkhead clock with ship’s striking including the dog’s watch originally retailed by Tiffany & Co, New York. |
| Case: | The circular case has fabric backed frets to the sides and a shaped bezel that is secured by a lock and has a thick beveled glass. |
| Dial: | The 8.5 in. engraved silvered dial has a sunken second’s dial, Roman numerals for the hours, steel-cut spade hands and is signed by the retailer, ”Tiffany & Co., New York”. |
| Movement: | The large circular 8-day movement has a trapezoidal foot, screwed shaped pillars, a horizontally mounted lever balance platform with the fast/slow out the dial, twin fusees with maintaining power on the time side and strikes on a bell. It is ship’s striking with the addition of the dog’s watch which changes the strike progression to note the watch. |
| Notes: | The movement is unsigned, but we have had near identical clock with a near identical movement that was stamped J.C. Jennens. It was, however, not dog’s watch striking.
