The elaborately engraved gilt-bronze case has animal scenes on 4 sides, a hinged handle, decorative finials and a plain hinged back door.

The silvered dial has an engraved center, painted Roman numerals for the hours and steel-cut hands.

The eight-day time-only movement is wound and set from the backplate and has a horizontal lever platform above with a silvered rating scale.
