Inv. #: | f333 |
Maker: |
RED, No.25. |
Case: |
The nickel drum shaped case has shaped posts screwed to the front and back, a shuttered back, a glass tube that protects the movement, a ring to the top and small ball feet. |
Dial: |
The white porcelain dial has Roman numerals for the hours, steel-cut spade hands and a heavy beveled glass. |
Movement: |
The small circular high-quality fusee 8-day time only movement is wound and set off the backplate, has screwed posts and is stamped on the back, ‘Brevete-Red-Paris’, ”25′ and ‘3’. The unusual lever escapement is mounted horizontally on top, has a screwed-bimetallic balance wheel and a two-plane anchor that engages with a heavy vertically oriented escapewheel. |
Notes: |
The unusual case, escapement and use of a fusee make this a really interesting piece of horology. |
