A rare mid-19th century Swiss silver fusee singing bird box by the esteemed maker Charles Bruguier, When activated the bird sings, moves both body and head side to side and flaps it’s wings. |
Case: |
The engraved gilt-silver Bombay case is decorated with scrolling foliage, has a compartment to the back and a polychromed enameled lid with a landscape scene on the exterior and a floral one on the interior. |
Movement: |
The fusee movement has eight cams, a large bellows and is stamped ‘C. Bruguier a Geneve, 278’. It plays 3 long and complicated songs per winding. |
